Leather Bomber Jackets
Leather Bomber Jackets are one of the kinds in the various collections of animal skin leather jackets. Initially it was meant for the only use of aviation purpose, but then it was also used by the civilians. Apart from a normal outfit, the leather bomber jacket has its own purpose to protect the pilots from extreme cold temperatures when the pilots are flying at a higher altitude. Not only cold temperatures, but it aids in the protection from other environmental parameters as well. These bomber jackets were superior in quality and were able to give enough protection from severe frost bites and cold temperatures.
One of the special features of this leather bomber jacket is that, it is water resistant and hence it avoids the damp feeling while wearing it and also saves the person who wears it from freezing. This jacket plays an important role when pilots have to get out in the rain. Older ones were really tough to wear as they give them a damp feeling and it might increase the cold temperature of the body, wherein pilots found it very difficult in those situations. On realizing this, later designers gave new bomber jackets, which were highly functional and very efficient. They were sleek, warm and light weight which was more than enough to hand out the requirements of the pilots. Not only these features, but it was designed in such a way to suit the traveling experience and the latest jet technology. The old B-15 jackets were later replaced by these bomber jackets which were fabricated in high quality cotton and then they started using nylon. These jackets have some polyester inter linings to give better warmth in case of cold temperatures.
The B-15 jackets had some extra fur in the collar section which was troublesome and so these difficulties were later removed and a new design was implemented. The usage of these jackets was popular around 1949, which were first used by the United States navy crews and the flight pilots. Smaller groups of the army flight workforce also used these jackets. This was so because it was the time of the World War II and at that time the demand for nylon was more. Hence only less number of jackets was made. The jacket can be used both in warm and cold weather as they are designed in such a way to serve dual purpose.
